Ashley is seven

We celebrated Ashley's observed birthday on Friday 1 May - she's now seven. She still seems like a teenager, with her smallness (she weighs just over 3kg) and her kitten squeak.

Here are three photos taken on Friday and in the weekend.

This is how Ashley greets me when I come home - she runs to me, squeaking, and throws herself on the ground to have her tummy rubbed, then I pick her up and cuddle her.

"Behold, the spottiness of my tummy, and the stripiness of my paws!"

Ashley standing on her tail. Taken at night, hence the quality. She wraps her tail round herself, then lifts one paw and places it firmly on her tail, then the other, while we count, "One, two!"

The shoes, socked foot, and chair are Greg's.

Tails are tricky things, they have to be kept under firm control or they wander off and create havoc.%D. I can not believe it has been 7 years since you got Ashley, I still think of her as a youngling.

Claudia's tail was like that; we used to joke that she had a second brain in there like a dinosaur. It really seemed to have a mind of its own.

With Ashley we think it might be a feeling of security, but we really don't know. It's so cute and different though!

Well, she was 7 months old when we got her, so it's not quite 7 years.

Lovely. :)

She is such a cutie! Well, they all are in different ways.

yay kitties!

I will have to go back and figure out how old my furbabies are--6 or 7--I would appear to have lost track. Oops! :P

I didn't realise you'd had yours for the same amount of time!

Happy Birthday to Ashley--I see she's trained you well ;)

Mine are going to be 11 next month, I still think of them as the young bunch!

I do about mine too. It doesn't feel like she's 7. She's the eldest but comes across as the youngest, still very kitteny.

She hasn't made up her mind whether she wants to be a tiger or a leopard, so she's hedging her bets.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
She's a snow tiger!

The others are a lion and a panther. :-)

Awww, such a pretty silvery kitty she is!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
She really is, especially in the sun. I tell her she's a work of art. :-)

Happy Birthday Ashley :)

Prrrrrrao! (That's the thank-you noise she makes when I open a door for her.)

She is so beautiful, and looks so happy! I love the sense that she lives in a black and white world, like the Time Lords when they were still cool - perhaps she is a Time Cat!

Have you seen Pleasantville (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleasantville_%28film%29)? It's such a fun film: a B&W TV world in which people gradually become coloured as they begin to think for themselves and break free. We used to call Claudia a Pleasantville cat as she looked like one of the still B&W creatures - Ashley is the same, with only her pinkish nose and green eyes showing some colour.

Congratulations, Ashley!!!! Many happy returns!
Oh, she would be a perfect partner for Oliver here...
What a beautiful girl she is! Well, Ollie does it too...while Tygr NEVER did show his tummy for rubbing!
Mmmm...lovely kitty...kočička!!!:-)

Prrrrrrao! (That's the thank-you noise Ashley makes when let her into a closed room.)

Both Ashley and Sebastian roll over and show their tummies for rubbing; they're such gentle cats. Jasmin will do it too, but if you fall into that trap, she's all claws and teeth!

She's such a pretty girl. Have you ever tried photographing her in black and white ? Tycho photographs very well in black and white, and I suspect Ashley may do so too.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have to try! Some of the photos I've taken of her one would swear were B&W except for her eyes or a leaf or something.

[identity profile] stevie-carroll.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
She's very cute!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
Hello there! :-D

She's an absolute darling.

[identity profile] jaxomsride.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Happy birthday Ashley and what wonderful photos they are too!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Ashley and I think you!

[identity profile] labingi.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
So adorable!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
She is, so beautiful and soft and cuddly with it!

I can't remember - did you meet her?

[identity profile] labingi.livejournal.com 2015-05-07 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I did meet her, yes. :) Hope I can get back to NZ someday. Right now, everything is survival mode, but I'd love to visit again when time, money, and kids permit!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2015-05-07 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Like me with travelling - except substitute "cats" for "kids". OK, they're nowhere near the trouble to look after* but boarding three of them so we can go away costs so much we hardly ever do.

* Except when one is injured and having to wear the CONE OF SHAME and be locked in, as Sebastian is now.

Ooh ooh spotty tum! I love a rubbable spotty tabby tum.

Her tail-tidying pose is absolutely adorable.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
She and Sebastian love having their tummies rubbed but Jasmin's offer is a trap for the unwary.

The tail thing doesn't get old!

[identity profile] sallymn.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
She is absolutely gorgeous, isn't she? Hugs to you both:)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I tell her she's a work of art. :-)

[virtual hugs back!]

adorable, and you can't beat a kitten squeak

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2015-05-05 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Her little squeak is irresistible.

I love your icon!
