Happy birthday, aralias!

I hope you don't get combined birthday and Christmas presents like a guy I knew whose birthday was on the 24th. He cured that by giving one of the offenders a jandal (flip-flop / thong / rubber summer footwear thingy) for Christmas with a note that he'd get the next one on his birthday. He always got two gifts from family after that. :-)

thank you! i do get a lot of one gift things, but i'm more and more coming round to idea of getting big things - like, this year i want a new laptop. so - money has gone towards that, and hopfully in january something will go towards that.

i like the idea of breaking other peoples gifts into two halves though. seems like a good idea ;) i do think (in a scrooge-y sort of way) that there is a lot of 'this would be much easier' or 'i have spent a lot of money already this season' going around........ but it is quite nice to have a december birthday, in that it means that december is basically THE ULTIMATE MONTH.
