[stab] I'm not sure about these bloody tags at all. I'm that close to removing all of mine. I've removed fiction as you can only see the most recent 100 so it was rendered useless as I've already got over 80 fic posts. There are other bugs too; you can't go back more than 60 and often comments in filtered posts don't show when they are actually there.

So instead I've added a link to my fiction memories. I think memories are a lot more usable, for me anyway, until they fix the bugs.

Besides, I haven't so far clicked on anyone else's tags. Memories are so much better. They're concise, fit on one page, and don't dork the original post.

I'm wondering if the skip=60 limit is really a bug, or just the way it's designed? Because I can't skip backwards in my own journal past 60 entries. Either way, if you can't go beyond 60 on the tags, it's of limited usefulness, since you can't even see the tags in the archive (though you can see post titles, which I hadn't previously noticed - I must learn to title my posts more usefully).

If the tags only went back all the way, I'd like them so much better than memories. They're easier to use, for one thing, and I can never remember to put something into memories. Though I did make an annual fic index for 2004 and put it in memories, and plan to do the same in future.

But I wish they'd let the tags go back indefinitely. :(

I deleted my fiction tag as I didn't see the point if you can't see them all, and having several different ones would be a pain. I put all my fiction in memories anyway. I also find the archive very useful when searching for something and I do try to use meaningful titles. It's very frustrating though if I look at someone else's archive (as I've done) and they haven't got titles that give some idea of the post's content. I do put a lot of others' posts into memories though if I'm alert enough to think of it at the time.

Losing the comments in filtered posts is also a very bad bug.

It sort of defeats the purpose as people (assuming anyone's interested) would only really have access to the most recent tag. Eh, maybe I'll see if I can link to a page of all my tags; that might work. Then I could arrange them by year, but it still seems like a lot of work. I'll think about it and wait till they get some bugs out first.
