And now for Prince Caspian

Prince Caspian was fun, though the screen was almost too wide to take in. Reepicheep was wonderful as were the other animals, and I liked the Telmarines being dark, though they never explained that the pirates 'married' Pacific Island women in this world. I also don't remember the distrust and rivalry between Peter and Caspian, and I didn't like Peter fighting because he resented being a boy after being the high king. Mind you, I've always felt very uncomfortable with the whole idea of children growing up and even almost contracting marriage with foreign monarchs, then becoming children again. That's just wrong.

I don't remember those huge battle scenes in the book either, but I did enjoy the infantry, the fast-loading trebuchets (c'mon, trebuchets!) and the sapping in the second one. I like a big battle, but oddly enough, I find a one-to-one fist- or sword-fight just boring.

I'm looking forward to the next one: the Dawn Treader itself, the islands and their Odyssey-like wonders, and more Reepicheep. :-D
