Poorly paw

My Claudia has hurt her leg--and wouldn't you know it, she's done it on a Saturday as usual, and after hours too. I think one of the local vets is open tomorrow though. She's lying in her basket purring away and giving me silent meows, but she's got a really bad limp; living up to her name in Latin. Poor little girl.

Oh yes, I remember Thomas sometimes purred when he was in pain. Poor Claudia. I hope you can find a vet in the morning.

I know that purring can help healing, but she's only purring when we talk to her or stroke her (which is what she always does so this is good). She actually seems fine apart from her limp, and she's quite capable of climbing the stairs and jumping into bed with us.

And no, none of the vets round here are open. The closest emergency one is over 20 kms away and when I spoke to them on the phone, they said if she's bright and cheerful, eating, and grooming (which she is) then to leave it till tomorrow. She's standing on all fours and eating biscuits as I speak. We'll still take her in tomorrow though.

Awww, thanks! As we speak (well, type), she and Tessa are cuddled up together on a heated pad covered in sheepskin in our bedroom. :-) She goes to the vet very soon (it's her left hind leg) and I'll pick her up after work today. I have no idea what she did; she was fine for most of Saturday.
