Days 19, 20, and 21

August is more than two-thirds over; aren't you glad?

Day 19
I chose the topic "room" because it was cold, wet, windy, and miserable. So this is a room in a summer beach house with the window open for a sea breeze.


Day 20
Today it was "something orange" so here are one each of the fruit we have in the house: lemon, satsuma, kiwi fruit, and apple.


Day 21
I had the topic "colour" so I decided to do three imaginary bottles. I did them in Artrage watercolours, then by accident clicked a brush that did odd things to the colours, so I played with that as I rather liked the iridescent effect even though they no longer looked transparent. But there are definitely colours.

I don't draw fruit still lifes except in August, which warps the representation in favour of what's seasonal at this time of year. There are no drawings of peaches or feijoas or melons in my sketchbook. And kiwifruit are hard to draw, with the fuzziness!

I like your fuzzy kiwifruit and the mandarin skin texture is very lifelike! Very interesting effect with the bottles too.

Yes, true! I love feijoas but they're long gone. :-( I had to play around a bit for the fuzziness and textures - thanks!

These are all so lovely and fresh, I'm so looking forward a having a pleasant sea breeze coming in my windows! Do you use Artage on a tablet or a PC/Mac?

On a PC with a graphics tablet. It would be really hard with a mouse, but a graphics pen is so easy to use.
