Day 27 - Pink camellia

This is another go at painting something from our garden in Artrage. The white camellias are nearing the end of their blooming but the pink ones beside them are still in bud, so I used a photo I took last September or so as reference. Incidentally one of the favourite cats' games is chasing the fallen buds we throw for them. :-)

My NaArMaMo 2011 Gallery is here; go up a level for the others.

That looks three dimensional--lush and gorgeous. The idea of cats chasing camellia buds is too cute :)

And I think this is my favourite so far! The composition is just gorgeous and, again, there's that lovely sense of "weight" and solidity to it, making me feel as if I know what it would be like to touch the real thing.

Oh, my god--this is gorgeous!!

:-D Thank you!

That is so beautiful, I have a mind to print and hang it.

Wow, that's pretty. :)

Awww, really? You'd probably have to add a big mat into the frame to make it worth your while as it's not a big picture.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 10:34 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! That flower was just at a lovely stage with the bud still opening. :-)

Then it will be in a small frame with a big mat, like my owls.

That has depth and texture and loveliness.

Stunning IS the word! Bravo! *applauds*

You're really getting GOOD at this!

That is a beautiful piece of work. There's a three-dimensional quality to it, with the 'background' out of focus. maybe that's part of why I first thought it was the photograph you referred to, not the artwork.

You should be extremely proud of that.

That is very beautiful!

That is brilliant!
You really have a talent for flowers.

Thank you!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I seem to be getting the hang of the virtual paints.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I'm getting better with Artrage with practice.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

I really like your icon, the composition and colours. Is it from Cape Cod? It looks like it.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
And this is a surprise because people have always been my favourites but they don't seem to be such popular topics with others.

Thank you! :-)

Unfortunately, I didn't make the icon so I'm not sure where it's from. I like the colour and composition, too. :o)
