Away from DW for a while

I can't cross-post or import from LJ since yesterday (and despite checking my password) so there won't be any entries here for a while. Not that anyone reads them much.

Yes, LJ is (mostly) down, has been since last night. Some people can access it, but others like you and me, can't.
I'm sorry I haven't been commenting much. I keep on meaning to catch up on the 30-days-of-fanfic entries, but I've been rather busy.

LJ isn't working for me at all right now; I can only read stuff that's been posted to DW as well. :-(

I can access LJ (but couldn't yesterday) but I can't get DW to talk to it so I don't want to create separate entries here and there only to duplicate them when I eventually import.

Not many people comment on the meme in LJ either but occasionally I get some good discussions going. Don't worry about it!

If I thought the entries would eventually go across to LJ I'd post here anyway but I get an error I reported to DW. I am frustrated.

What I've found in the past when things fail to cross-post is:
1) Wait until LJ is stable again.
2) Click on the "edit" for the DW post.
3) Click on the crosspost-to-LJ ticky box down the bottom to make sure it is On. Usually when the x-post fails, it gets turned off for that entry, but one can simply turn it on again.
4) Click on "save" without actually changing anything in the post. DW will now attempt to cross-post the entry to LJ again.

So you can still post here on DW, and you CAN cross-post the posts to LJ later.

I'd just wait but I'm doing the damned 30-day meme. Maybe I'll post manually both places but then I'd have to go back and delete one when it comes over. Sigh. It usually wouldn't matter.

It wouldn't normally matter if I delayed posting for a while but I didn't want to get behind on the meme. OK, I'll post it here too but then I'll have to delete one of the duplicates when I eventually import (which usually just brings across comments).

If it were me, I'd say the meme could go hang, and I'd wait until things were working properly.

Oh, I'd forgotten about NaArMaMo! I wonder if I will participate this year? Maybe I'll half-participate. I do have a lot of arty stuff I want to do, but I'm certain that none of the projects are small enough to be able to post daily. What should I do?

You could still take part and post your progress on each piece. Some people post their stuff in lots anyway because they've been away or for whatever reason, so you don't even have to post daily. I'd love to see what you do. :-)
