Correct use of the ampersand and slash

Hey, look: fanfic gets a mention in xkcd's latest strip! But what if someone wants to write friendship for them?

And I happen to know there is now some slash. ;-)

They always use spaces on AO3. I rather like Strunk + White or does that mean something else?

That looks like a hyphenated name though, and what would you do if a character had one? I use an ampersand but I see in the comments on the feed that some people would also use Struck + White. They ma have to in this case!
