Injured Ashley - and a tiny kitten

I didn't see Ashley all day on Friday which bothered me as it wasn't like her, and when I went out and called her, she cried and came running to be picked up. She wasn't at all happy and I could see she'd been in a fight so we took her to the vet. She had several scratches, but the worst was inside her right ear which had healed over the injury and would have abscessed. The vet (who called her doll and said she was a pretty little thing) washed it out and gave her some pain-killer and antibiotic injections, and some pills we have to dose her with.

Then we went back out to reception and that was where the tiny kitten was: a ginger one sitting on the counter beside the receptionist who said she brings it to work every day and carries it around in her pocket when she's not at her desk. So how could I resist? I played with the little ginger girl for a while, and she was just adorable, grabbing my fingers and biting them gently. She's older then she looks: she has hypothyroidism and should be twice the size by now. Someone brought her in to have her put down, but the receptionist decided to keep her (as I would have) and apparently she's growing now she's on some new tablets.

I want to go back and play with her again.

As for Ashley, she was much happier after the cleaning and injection and stayed inside for several hours on the heatpad. Today she's her normal self again, running around outside and rolling over with joy for a scritch when she sees me. :-)

Aww, Ashley :( I'm glad she's feeling better now *scritches*

Our vet sometimes has a very cute little parakeet helping the receptionist, sometimes sitting on her shoulder or chewing on her pens :)

I understand the vet; Ashley looks like a strikingly beautiful cat! I'm glad she's better and that you didn't have to worry for longer - it's no fun at all when they don't come home like that.

A tiny kitten who can't grow and comes to work -- how adorable! I've known kittens who will sit happily in pockets, or be carried in the front of a dressing gown, and just want to be around people all the time.

I'm glad Ashley is feeling better!

Poor Ashley! Glad to hear she's doing better, though.

Awww, the kitty sound adorable! And I'm glad Ashley's getting back to normal; I always worry too when mine don't follow their usual rounds during the day.

I'm glad the vet was able to make Ashley feel better. Pool girl, the ear's very sensitive, that must have been really hurting.

Ah, Ashley, poor kitty! I see that she had a simlar injury like Tygr. And I am really glad to read that she is also feeling much better now! No wonder that she charmed the vet!:-)
Ginger tiny thing...oh, I know your kind heart...how could you resist?
I look forward to a picture!

I'm glad Ashley is on the mend.
I would love to have a tiny kitten at work, although possibly not where I work now

Aww poor Ashley. I hope she's feeling better soon, it's horrible when they vanish like that.

The ginger kitten sounds so cute, how could they want to put the little mite down?

Awww poor baby. How is she now?

Awww adorable kitten!

There are 3 cats who live down the road I walk to on the way to the gym and every one of them runs away from me. Okay they run away from other people too but it was really disheartening when I was doing my best to appear non threatening. Then on Saturday walking back from the shops there was a black cat curled up outside the pub asleep. It woke up when I came over but completely ignored me and started washing itself. I miss cats who want to say hello to me.

Poor Ashley! Glad she's okay now. The little kitty sounds adorable. Glad she was given a good home. I miss having a cat. But my friend has several and I take care of them for her when she's sick or away, so I still get to play with kitties. :)
