I joined here two days ago, and I just started my LJ importing, which apparently will take a while. I plan to re-import new posts at intervals so that I get the comments too, rather than cross-post; besides it's a pain if I have to edit two posts.
That's what I do for IJ, not that comments go across there. It's easier than running an app to cross-post.
I asked Denise what happens when one reruns the import, and it brings new posts over, and new comments. Edited posts and comments aren't picked up, which is fair enough.
However their importer is a bit clogged with the new people using it. I don't know how it will cope with the influx in May.
We'll have tons more servers by May. We're running on 14 machines right now, with 2 of them doing import-related jobs; by April 30 we'll be running on about 40 machines, and probably 5-6 of them will be dedicated jobservers with a few others picking up the slack when needed.
Cool! You're doing a brilliant job, and I much prefer your terminology to the problematic "friends" on LJ. I know quite a few people already here, and others are very interested and waiting for invites.
Clicking madly on links to interests and such in the profile, mainly. I found you because I clicked on the country link before I clicked the B7 link. Just testing the beta product. *g* I found another person I know on lj by clicking the Sapphire and Steel link. Between that and people rejoicing in invite codes on lj (which is how I got here before the end of the month) I've tracked down a few familiar faces.
Hello! No journal here yet for me, but I'm going ahead and adding you now, because I'm sure I'll get one eventually. :) (They say after the 30th the invite codes will taste like candy! Or, er, will be given out like candy. Or something. I'm not quite sure.)
