Rec and query

I have to say that I love the Google spellchecker for Firefox. It works like the one in Gmail and even allows you to add to the dictionary.

However, can anyone recommend a good LJ archive program? I don't want to save as PDF or anything like that (as LJbook does); just as small efficient searchable files that I can extract my fiction from should I ever need to. Let me know what you use, what you think of it, and what features you like or dislike.

Which one did you try? I googled and found two, this one (http://ljbackup.yamnet.co.uk/) and this one (http://www.abednarz.net/LJBackup.html) which could be promising, but I'd like to have some recs and opinions.

Oh yeah, I looked at that one too. I don't really want all the stuff they mentioned anyway, and a couple of users had problems.

All the bells and whistles and extra features looked kind of nifty, but, as I recall, I could never even get to to connect to LJ.

I'd be interested to know too. A friend recently deleted her account (not over breastfeeding) and said something about how she'd have to revive it temporarily to download a lot of stuff from her archive.

It takes *forever* for LJ Archive to download posts, which is a pain in the arse if you post a lot. *cough* It takes for-frickin-ever to search for stuff, too. Often I just give up and go to Google Blogsearch, which I haven't blocked from accessing my blog.
