Yay, more people who like Sayers' translation! I've read Inferno in three different translations, and hers is by far the most readable.

Yes, Paradiso is the hardest to get through, but it's worth it at the end (or so I found). I honestly think one of the problems is that we've gotten very attached to Virgil as Dante's guide, and as splendid as Beatrice is, she's not nearly as interesting or humorous.

Erg. Now I'm thinking of the Inferno in fannish terms.
