More icon meme

More of the five icon meme.

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon fun.

I won't do any more of these posts, but you're welcome to ask me about any of my icons in the comments, or to ask me to pick five of yours, or indeed both!

For [livejournal.com profile] vandonovan

This was one of a series of 60s girls' book covers that [livejournal.com profile] redscharlach made. This was one of the few SF ones, and I use it for SF comments, or when I feel more than usually alien.

My writing icon! I drew it and did the handwritten text on it. I very rarely actually write though; typing is faster and much more legible.

S4 Avon after shooting Blake. The text is a football (as in soccer) term for when a player scores for the opposite team by kicking the ball into their... own goal.

What can I say? Vila and Avon have a lot in common (though neither like to admit it). It's a term used for people who are close, though I'm not really sure why thieves are meant to be.

Ha, one of my first! This icon is about five years old and it was made by the person who invited me to LJ: [livejournal.com profile] snowgrouse. I think I got it from her site originally, and that she revamped it later. And yes, I would love to do just that. :-)

This is from one of my own screencaps of 'City'. You know those little warning signs about men at work? I wanted to do a thief at work one, so I have a little guy opening a safe, though it's hard to tell at that size.

My first experiment with the comic-ising technique, and I rather like it. I did several more after that.

This one again! I often use it for Avon&Vila comments, or for when they're being larcenous. I can't remember which ep this one came from now.

An old one from Killer, because they are friends even though neither would use the word. There's some old saying about a rose by any other name smelling as sweet, and these guys might not call themselves friends, but they are.

Another oldie, but one of the many I revamped when I learned more, like how to add a plasma background in this case, and outline text. Both Avon and Vila have said this, but not meaning it. When I use it, I do. :-)

The Thick as Thieves is from Time Squad--only time Avon ever wears that hideous orange thing. XD And the "rose by any other name" is from Romeo and Juliet! XD but it's true, they're friends even if they don't call it that. Silly Avon.

I'd always wondered about the "own goal" term. XD I figured sort of what it meant, but not directly.

Ah yes, when they're looking at the corpsicles! :-D

Romeo and Juliet, of course! [headdesk] I feel stupid, oh so stupid... /West Side Story

Yep, Avon scooooores! But not for his side.
