Prince Caspian and The Wind in the Willows

I've just seen the Prince Caspian trailer, and it looks awesome! Trechuchets! [bounce]

And last night we watched the BBC's The Wind in the Willows which had an excellent cast: Lee Ingleby as an adorable Moley, Mark Gatiss as a hearty and likeable upper-class Ratty, a warty and very funny Matt Lucas as Toad, and Bob Hoskins as a growly Badger. Lovely stuff.

I'd also like to see The Water Horse this week; it started today.

I loved that Wind in the Willows, saw it last year! I was very impressed that they did the Piper at the Gates of Dawn. It's usually left out because it's so trippy, but it's my favourite chapter in the whole book. That was a sweet one.

Cool. Prince Caspian has flions!

It was. And when I saw the Piper, I said to Greg that you must have loved that. :-)

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!:)

It's fun. Every time see Lee Ingleby as Sam's dad in Life on Mars I just keep going MOLEY at the screen.

...that, and Mark Gatiss. As if I didn't already love him to TINY TINY LITTLE BITS.

But he's not a bit Moley in LoM! Awww at your icon. :-)

He and Ratty were so lovely together.

I know, but it still makes me EEE:).

I'm another fan of that version of Wind of the Willows, which is the best TV/movie version that I've ever seen. I too was glad that they left the Piper in. It's a very strange chapter to find in a children's book, almost as if Kenneth Grahame somehow managed to mix in part of the manuscript of a very different book before sending it off to the publisher.

Seeing your title "Prince Caspian and The Wind in the Willows", I wondered for a moment if I was going to find a very strange cross-over fanfic. :)

Hahaha, I'm not quite that... cracked. :-)

It was a great version. I also loved the stage musical I saw several years ago here.

I was impressed with that version of Wind in the Willows, too. It followed the book closely but also had its own "feel". And Bob Hoskins is always wonderful. *g*

He is! It was an excellent cast and version.
