Handbags at dawn!

Bwahahaha, just what thugby rugby needs! A former All Black captain hit a Hurricanes teammate with a handbag and made him cry. I love it!

The handbag in question has been put up for sale on TradeMe, the NZ version of eBay, where it has reached over $13,000 when I last looked. :-D

[Edit] The handbag has sold for $22,800.

Oh, that is just BRILLIANT! I *love* the bit where the judge agrees with Umaga that he had no choice but to hit Masoe with a handbag in order to "defuse the situation" - now that's the kind of quick thinker you want on your side in a pub brawl!

That wasn't the judge, but the NZ Rugby Union. And I bet the woman who owned the handbag is 'happy'; she got a new cellphone and her bag is now up to $105,000. [boggles] Surely no one is going to pay that!

Oh lovely!

Well next time we play the All Blacks our front row will be chanting'Handbag, Handbag watch out for the handbag' in response to the Hakka. Except it might make them mad and you don't want to get into a tight scrum with an angry Rugby player.

*snort*. Oh, how cute.

Rugby will never be the same again. Well, I can hope.

Isn't it? I didn't believe it when I first heard it. :-D

Hahaha, go for it! I've never been a supporter; I dislike thugby and how it's affected this country.

And yeah, you never know what they'll grab.

I am delighted to see that Tana Umaga has now been awarded the ONZM (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/feature/story.cfm?c_id=513&objectid=10385062) for his services to defusing brawls with handbags. Oh, the citation actually says for services to rugby, but we know what it means really.

I consider it a service to rugby.

And now I've hit 133 userpics, though that's partly because I've been too lazy to delete some when I loaded new ones under the same key word...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-06-07 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Bwahahaha! I love it!

I didn't think they let you have two under the same keyword. At least I got an error message once, so I always delete the old one first now.

They don't, though you can have multiple keywords for one pic (so if I have a few pics on related subjects, I often transfer their keywords as I delete them - eg I once had three Chiana pics, and now my single Chiana pic is attached to all three keywords so that there'll still be something vaguely appropriate on old posts where I wanted to use a Chiana).

But whereas they used to delete the duplicated keyword from one of the two pics, so that one appeared on your userpic page without a keyword and couldn't be called up until you edited them, they now replace the duplicated keyword with "pic#31136361" (or whatever), so if you happen to remember what pic#31136361 is you can still use it.

I need to do some weeding out now I've hit the limit again, but as I said I got lazy.
